GENTLY THRU LIFE
by David Whitmore
only £12.95

Author David Whitmore, now heavily involved in the local political scene in Uttoxeter and Burton area, and recently made Major of East Staffordshire, was an engineer who amongst other things worked in the Fishing and Brewery Industres, before he and his family bought the semi-derelict 'Old Vicarage' in Uttoxeter and set about a major restoration job.  In between times, David also worked in the middle East, on water supplies to villages in the desert regions of Abu Dhabi in the Arabian Empty Quarter and King Hussain's Jordan.

His tales, both of his Middle East experiences and the Vicarage restoration, are both interesting, informative and amusing. 'Gently Thru Life' is described by the author as a 'gentle read'.  David and his wife Cynthia now host weddings at the Old Vicarage.

The book contains over one hundred and twenty photographs and illustrations of both David's Middle East exploits, the story of the Uttoxeter area and the restoration of the Old Vicarage.  With a full colour gloss laminated cover this 160 page book also contains some 10 pages of colour photographs, it is sure to appeal to a very large cross section of readers and collectors.

This local history/interest book certainly has a difference, appealing to anyone with the slightest sense of adventure.
